Catalyst is a new accelerator programme designed to support change makers from the humanities, arts and social sciences. The multi-stage programme helps those learn how their ideas and research can spark real social change. With international aspirations a versatile brand system became an essential foundation with Catalyst GER being the first to launch.
Catalyst had a name and mission but no brand identity to showcase their vision and purpose to a range of audience groups. With clear long-term goals to expand across multiple countries, each with their own specific sub-brand, a dynamic brand was required alongside a structured visual language which could be developed to support business growth.
To differentiate themselves within the field Catalyst needed something that was approachable, versatile and stood out among the selection of projects and programmes available internationally.
We worked with Catalyst to develop a dynamic and approachable brand identity that could work across multiple countries for various programmes. Through a varied colour palette, easy to use visual language and illustration style that combines landmarks with progressing business people, this provided Catalyst with an identity built for scale and impact.
The logo icon was formed to reflect the multi-stage process of the programme with the flexibility to adapt the colour palette to align with the represented country for sub-brands to create a sense of familiarity for the audience group.
The final outcome was a brand built with expansion at the core which when partnered with clear visual language and assets created a cohesive direction for all future sub-brands across both print and digital platforms.
