NAPIC

We partnered with the National Alternative Protein Innovation Centre (NAPIC), a collaborative initiative led by researchers from the University of Leeds, James Hutton Institute, University of Sheffield, and Imperial College London, dedicated to developing sustainable, planet-friendly alternatives to animal proteins. Identity Creative supported NAPIC in creating a cohesive brand identity, website, and marketing materials to launch their centre and drive engagement with stakeholders, funders, and the wider research community.

The Problem

NAPIC faced several challenges in establishing a professional and functional digital presence:

  • Their existing website was not meeting expectations in terms of aesthetics, functionality, or user journey
  • Attempts to expand the site had been delayed and difficult to manage on the existing platform
  • They had a brand but no formal brand guidelines or assets to ensure consistency
  • A tight deadline for a major conference and funding launch required a digital platform capable of driving traffic and engagement
  • Limited internal resources and time to manage design, development, and content

The challenge was to create a modern, functional, and visually engaging website while building a flexible brand system and supporting materials that could grow with the centre’s future initiatives.

The Solution

  • On-brand website designed for functionality and usability, housing detailed information about NAPIC, its research, funding opportunities, and conferences
  • Strong CTAs across key pages to drive traffic and encourage engagement with funding applications and event registration with automated workflows integrated into the website to reduce admin time
  • Bespoke brand assets and infographics, aligned with the new visual identity, to support marketing and communications
  • Future-proof functionality, including the potential for e-commerce, to support later initiatives
  • Training and resources for the NAPIC team to manage content using a user-friendly front-end builder
  • Essential stationery and expanded digital materials, alongside a fully branded exhibition booth

The result is a modern, functional, and visually cohesive digital platform that aligns with NAPIC’s mission, enhances visibility, supports stakeholder engagement, and provides a strong foundation for future growth in alternative protein research and innovation.
