At Identity Creative, we’ve always believed the best ideas don’t come from simply presenting knowledge and ideas, they come from open conversations and brainstorming session. Stacey and Thanos showcased this with a recent workshop, From Start-Up to Scale, which took place during the Haverhill Science Festival, hosted at The EpiCentre. A room full of curious attendees didn’t just listen, they become involved in, shared experiences, and contributed to the outcome.
From the beginning the energy in the room was collaborative. A structured workshop quickly evolved into an open discussion where each business explored their own challenges including outgrown branding, inconsistent messaging, underperforming websites and worked through them together. The event wasn’t about simply discussed theories. it was about practical, honest insights.
A core part of the morning centred around how design supports growth across multiple touchpoints. We explored how branding, presentations, infographics, websites and wider brand assets all play a role in shaping how businesses are perceived and drives results. Whether it’s a pitch deck that clearly communicates value, an infographic that simplifies complex ideas, or consistent visual branding across platforms, attendees began to see design not as a finishing touch, but as an achievable strategic tool.
The foundation for any brand should focus on the “five pillars”: clarity, consistency, credibility, conversion, and cohesion. Conversations naturally flowed as attendees reflected on their own businesses:
What stood out most was the level of involvement – during discussions throughout workshop the attendees didn’t just listen, they engaged. Through showing real life examples we were able to debate debated what makes a business truly stand out, and how brand assets dictate perception in a range of ways. Many recognised missed opportunities, overcomplicated slides, unclear messaging and even inconsistent visuals that reduced impact. These weren’t criticisms instead they directed attendees to find turning points and reflect on their own businesses.
The conversation around websites as a “digital shopfront” also resonated strongly. Attendees shared their own experiences navigating slow, outdated, or confusing sites, quickly connecting those frustrations to their own digital presence. It reinforced a simple truth: your website, your presentations, and your wider brand assets all need to work together seamlessly to guide users and build trust.
We also tackled common barriers and offered our tips and advise on how to overcome these. Many attendees realised they were facing similar challenges which created a solution-focused mindset. From refining brand guidelines to improving PPT decks and investing in better visual storytelling, the next steps felt achievable.
By the end of the session, the focus had shifted from identifying problems to building solutions. Attendees didn’t leave just thinking about what needed to change, they were considering how to implement new opportunities across all areas of their business, from branding and presentations to their website and marketing materials.
To support that journey, we invited everyone to claim a free audit where our expert team of designers and developers would take a closer look at their branding and website. It’s a practical next step designed to turn insights from the workshop into meaningful action.
For us, this session delivered:
Most importantly, attendees left with clarity, not just about their brand, but about how every piece of communication they create contributes to their growth.
We can’t wait to be able to run another workshop soon.
